Road Rat......
You are doing it again.....
You are mixing more than one concept here and you don't know it because you REFUSE to read about the subjects!
RotaxMxr is SPOT ON about that lot. However, he doesn't mention your confusion about the Hydrogen Fuel Cell. This takes HYDROGEN and converts it to electrical power by combining it with Oxygen. Its output is power and water!
That all sounds FABULOUS and far too many people think that SOLVES the problems...... it does NOT!
The big question is simple: from where do you GET the Hydrogen? The ONLY practical way to do it is to SPLIT water into hygrogen and oxygen and THAT takes MORE energy than can be returned by letting them joing TOGETHER again in your Hydrogen Cell! You MIGHT get that power from renewable means (Hydro, solar, etc.) BUT, we can't get anywhere NEAR enough by those measn so we would simply burn FUEL (e.g., oil, coal, gas) to PRODUCE the hydrogen....... and that is EXACTLY what we were doing in the cars in the FIRST place before we replaced the engines with Hydrogen Fuel Cells!
Overall, we'd need to burn MORE fuel to run these Hydrogen Cells wthan we would do if we CONTINUED to burn the fuel in our CARS!
