The MSA's Medical Panel need to be certain that you won't go into a diabetic coma whilst racing therefore the assessment is based upon how severe your diabetes is and how well controlled it is.

How long you've had it and well you control it plays a big part of the assessment.

The Diabetic Association (i don't know what it's called) will help you with your application, speak to them in advance of applying.
