ive had the HP for 9 years and its been great,all it really needs is a faster processor but rather than do that i opted to get the new HP Elite. think its the top of the range one.very happy with it so far

absolutely,yes everyone i know in the illustration and design field i know of has a mac,but all they tend to use on it is photoshop which i can use just as well on a pc(i honestly dont think they really know why they are using a mac for artwork,i have to say!).most illustration these days(regrettably)is done digitally and actually painting with a brush(which is what i do)is becoming very rare indeed so all i use photoshop for really is scanning in artwork and the odd touch up

i find it amusing that ive had two computer based design magazines phone me up and ask can they do article on my work and it gave me great pleasure to inform them that there was nothing digital about it.to be fair though,these days i do mock up all my reference on photoshop which is much quicker than how i used to do it which was priniting out bits to the right size,cutting them out and collaging them together

amazingly there are a lot of art directors out there who just think that i click a filter on photoshop and my....photograph turns into a painting.i had to fight last week to get more than 1(yes 1!!!!)day to produce some painted artwork for them when id spent a week going to and fro on a rough!

my other reason for staying with a pc is music.i do some music with my mate and use QBase SX and Reason.im sure yo can get it for the mac but i already have the software so no need to change!
