Sounds like Martin Morris, son of the father of Hot Rod racing Bill Morris.
I dont remember him in Hot Rods but he was the man to beat in Super Rods when they were introduced (as late model speedcars)Raced a black and yellow mk1 Capri with a little f1 style wing on the roof.
TOM LAFFEY was THE man in Hot Rods both before and after Barry lee!
