That is a noble sentiment. We would all like our karts to look pristine and like new all the time.

However you can with no fault of your own get both pods and nose cone heavily marked up with tyre rubber in just 1 session. I used to spend hours cleaning off rubber marks with an oven scourer only for the scratched surface to become a magnet for oil and other marks and look grimy and poor. It is not reality to change your pods every time they get marked up. It is however far more important to check the kart over for breakages and slack nuts and bolts etc. Now that is real safety.

The nice stick on decals such as the Tony kart ones look great and resist marking for a while. However they cost up to Ł80. (resist rude comment about Rotax classes)
