as the graph shows the minimum this year is above the record in 2007. Just. We will have to wait and see what winter 2008 brings. It is obvious that the thick ice will have diminished in this period, it will take another 10 years for it to amass again. But, if the snows return good style (and indications are pointing that way) that means more new ice and the building starts again.

it's a 50/50. Will it get warmer or will it get colder. I am definitely on the side of it getting colder. At this time anyway, judging by the Sun's activity in our system. If it wakes up again things will change overnight but this does not look likely judging by the new data and findings. There is so much we don't know about the Sun and it's effects on us and the rest of the Planets. let's wait and see but it's worth thinking about the next ice age just in case! scouts honour and all that!!
