Ok.... you accept it's happening.

You also seem to accept that we MIGHT have had some effect, abeit to an unknown degree!

Yes! You do NOT say that we cannot have had ANY effect! In that case, we are only arguing about the DEGREE of the effect!

OK.....

We do NOT know the EXTENT of the effect we are having and even YOU accept that it COULD be a SUBSTANTIAL effect...... You also probably accept that IF the effect is substantial, the effect COULD be CATESTROPHIC!

So..... explain the concept that we should CONTINUE potentially causing Catestrophic effects when we don't HAVE to do so, until we know it is SAFE to continue!

That's the bit I DON'T get! If we CUT our 'emissions' not a single SOUL on the planet is suggesting that BILLIONS could DIE! However, MANY are suggesting that the reverse is EXACTLY what is going to HAPPEN!

Taking a simple, DavyBoy-based, analogy!

Cirrhosis!

Doctor David to Patient:-

" You MAY have cirrhoris but we need to do more tests before we can be CERTAIN. If you stop drinking today, it won't get WORSE but continuing might KILL you within DAYS! If you HAVEN'T go cihrossis a few drinks more MIGHT still give it to you. But if haven't got it and you stop drinking today you will actually get a little better ANYWAY. Therefore, I rcommend that.............."

Now...... YOU play-doctor!

You tell US which you would recommend to THAT patient........ Are you going to tell him to go out an get PLASTERED again?????? REALLY?????

That's a rhetorical question which answers itself INSTANTLY....... So.... failure to STATE which advice you WOULD give him is EXACTLY the same as giving him the BLATANTLY OBVIOUS ADVICE!

I trust I can already USE your 'answer' as the NEXT part of my 'proof'!

PS, I have to give DavyBoy his due...... it's a VERY accurate analogy in almost EVERY respect. It even includes the minor financial probelms the patient's drinking.... thanks Davyboy...... and 'cheers'!
