You don't subscribe to the human cause of climate change,
or
you don't susbcribe to whether we can adapt to it?

or do you insist on joining the two. In other words, if we can PROVE that humanity IS inducing climate change, but we (humans) can adapt, you are not concerned, OR we can show that humanity has had no effect on CC, but it IS changing so rapidly it will wipe out the human race in 10 years, you are equally unconcerned?

I guess you have no Kids...otherwise you might have a different outlook.

What has belief got to do with it? We are talking about possible catestrophic changes in the environment! The EVIDENCE is currently leaning toward human affected CC. OK, it may not have reached 100% agreement throughout the world of science, but its pretty damned close. If we take NO action, then current predictions are dire. If we take SOME action, we at least have the time to reverse those actions if it turns out we are wrong.

The captain of the Titanic COULD have elected to go slower, and keep a better lookout; but no, he was confident that his ship was unsinkable. A more prudent person would have decided on a change of course, or reduction in speed, and asked questions in port. At least he would have reached port.

I think this is just about as far as we're going to get Ian. We should agree to differ :-)
