I love these debates because they're really just a whole load of men [and women] in a room blowing hot air :-) What's worrying is that politicians can and are taking action based on BELIEFS which could have a profoundly damaging effect on the lives of people, particularly the most disadvantaged.

But lets take a few steps back and begin by looking at this objectively.

FACT : The climate is changing.
You know what, its always been changing and it always will. Is there any evidence to say its ever been static ?

FACT : There is NO SCIENTIFIC PROOF to connect human behaviour with a changing climate.
The scientific community have studied and written about this ad nauseum but they do not have any PROOF. What they have is significant 'peer review' agreement on a theory that there is a connection, but that is massively different to proof.
Its like the Catholic Church's theory on God. A very large group of highly educated people have a common view and they use their own tests to arrive at agreement on that view. Its called belief.

THE DANGER : Its better to do nothing than to do something stupid.
Our ever changing climate may be changing in a way we dislike right now. Our scientists have PROJECTED a variety of different SCENARIO, based on THEIR THEORIES, of what COULD happen in 50, 100, 200 years time. Note, there are a lot of conditionals in here... but we are being driven to make step changes to a human equilibium that's evolved over thousands of years. That is not just dumb, its dangerous and WILL result in mass destruction of the human race on an unprecedented level.

THE ANSWER : Its very simple... we adapt when it happens.
Man has adapted to climate change since man first walked the planet. He moved from cold areas to warm areas. He moved from dry areas to wet areas. He moved from low areas to high areas. Humans have a greater capability to move today than they've ever had and if/when a particular part of the world becomes less temperate, we just move.

What's annoying today is that the belief that humans are the cause of climate change is being manipulated by government, the media and business specifically to generate money. But we need to be thanful that's all they're doing. Should they start to properly act on these 'scientific theories' and impose the kind of changes to the way we exist that are recommended to reverse this proposed climate change... then we really will need to sit up and take notice as it will be the beginning of a horrific genocide.

Let's hope that this scam disappears, like the hole in the Ozone layer and the Y2K.
