yes in this instance I think the MSA have gotten them selves into a mucking fuddle.....it needs to be a vertically installed roll-over valve like the motorbike fuel filler car ones on Amazon/ebay for £5, these have been common in circuit racing for donkeys years, we even fitted one to our 600cc formula student car back in 1999 and it was scrutineer'd by the MSA back then.
On this occasion the MSA are doing the right thing in being pro-active before someone gets badly BBQ'd when stuck under a rolled kart, so thumbs up from me. But looks like they need to quickly re-write the wording of the requirement as a one-way valve is going to cause havoc with all manner of karts fuelling systems on warm days, but last weekend in a 2 DegC chilly ambient, I saw a lads full day of mini-max testing wrecked by installing a one-way valve that not even an elephant could have blown through!......
I have now got some of the ali one-way-valves and a mouse could fart through them and make them flow, but I'm still looking for a volunteer mouse to verify this for sure, but dont think I'll use them and will get the motorbike roll-over ones instead.
