Are you running a return on this ? In other words a T piece between the pump and the carb with a 1mm jet or as close as in the return fuel line back to the tank.Also you need to make sure you install the smallest needle float jet for this model.
That generally with some idle adjustment gives a balanced tick over. I ran a 41mm Mikuni some years ago with very little success , sold it on e bay and purchased a Dellorto Phf 36 bolted it on and never touched it again.
