Yes. The dyno is a measuring instrument . It measures engine torque and revs and calculates power from these figures which may be presented to the customer in the form of a graph. (Power curve). If the vertical axis of the graph is marked as horsepower. h.p .Variations in actual power output between engines will obviously alter the readings from the curve but as indicated by 'knighty' power variations due to varying atmospheric conditions should be automatically corrected by the 'software'. From 'Knighty's earlier post there is a variation of 34.5% between the readings(presumably max h.p.) between 2 dynos for comparable engines. If the printouts from both dynos are stated as representing horsepower.(or even failing to state they do not represent horsepower)hp. then one or the other or both are invalid documents.
