Hi Ian, you are exactly correct, I added to much REAR grip by reducing the front spacers from 10mm down to 5mm, I also lowered the rear of the chassis (high axle).......what I should have done was left the axle in the middle position and gone the other way to 15mm front spacers in order to allow the inside rear wheel to lift a bit more......also I "cleaned" the tyres over the lunch period using those trusty cleaning products that everyone else uses for cleaning tyres, as the cadets pick up all the fine crud and rubber particles that is laid on the track by the rotax boys.......after the last race all cadet tyres were minging......apart from ours! ........then to help things further the ambient temperature rose from 22DegC up to about 25DegC, and the sun was burning down at this point, the track was well rubbered in by then.....it was also the first time I was running powder coated rims, I always take temperature measurements after every session and this gave another 8-10DegC tyre temp compared to bare aluminium rims.
