True Ackermann involves the two front wheels moving along different radii without scrub. To achieve this extensions of the lines of the two stub axles in plan view should intersect on the c/l of the rear axle extended. Not sure if this is quite the same as Simon S's definition. However an arguably more important aspect is the vertical movements of the two front wheels rel. chassis arising from the combination of steering input and castor angle, resulting in varying degrees of unloading/release of the inside rear at turn in and as long as 'lock' is applied. Presumably the weird wheel angles resulting from the different 'Ackermann' settings 'fine tune' this unloading.
