I have also seen the wankel (Aixro XR50 PVL Engine). Even if pretty expensive those seems to be exciting but again a few question
Given the performances on which track can those be used? Can you have session with other karts or you need dedicated session?
If I want to do some races I guess the options will also be very limited as there are not a lot around (I am in South East)
They seems to be not very demanding in terms of mainteinance and reliability, is that correct? I gues sthat an engine rebuilt would be very expensive.

Would have one of those to have something more exciting than a "normal" 2 stroke and maybe more reliable and less demanding for mainteinance?
