Perhaps I could address the issue of the EPS/EPEC Clay rounds. Bob and I arranged this months ago, well before the introduction of Pro Extreme. At that point, adding 15/20/who knows EPS 160 runners to the Clubman class in the EPEC Clay rounds would have been good for all involved. The concern quickly became, that due to the unforeseen unpredictability, and the rising number of EPEC runners (plus of course factoring in the hire-karts), we might ..... I stress might ..... reach a 'numbers on the circuit' problem . So a decision had to be made ........ early enough to allow us to re-schedule, and early enough not to have possible chaos at the eleventh hour. Which we've done ..... no mystery, no acrimony, no conspiracy theories ... sorry.
On a broader point, I think most would agree that it is far too early for any real conclusions on the issues raised by Pro Extreme. When we are a lot further into the season, with more racing miles covered, 160s v 200s, improving weather conditions (!?), engines back and forth from RPM, owners possibly reverting to their 160s (or not), and so on, then we'll know a lot more, and be in a position to judge where we are exactly.
In the meantime, our series will be 100% GX160, and everyone suitably equipped is very welcome. (Those that may unwittingly be running engines that are not quite right in the timing department will be politely informed.)
We can perfectly well co-exist with other series, for example guys from F6 are happily running with us ......... and BTW, that goes equally for FP4 160 prokart runners, who can get guaranteed and value-for-money non-MSA racing at Clay through 2014.
Jimbob40 (and others), I hope that clears it up - we look forward to seeing you.
