i said to myself id said enough on this matter and wouldnt post again but here we go again.... i do think people will make there choices and pick either 160 or 200 and thats fine. however i know a few that have felt forced to jump ship due to thinking that the 160 class they are happy racing in will suddenly a disappear overnight. at the moment except in epec that doesnt seem to be happening.... what seems to be happening in a lot of other series is a 50/50 split. something which i feared. suddenly we now have 2 smaller gids rather than 1 strong grid. i personally wouldnt entertain the 200's for the same reasons as above plus i couldnt afford to fork out for 200's... i also wouldnt want to then have to fork out to rpm for every slightest repair or engine recheck/dyno to make sure that it was still up to the supposed equal output. thus in my eyes, ignoring the hype, making it more expensive in the long run. i also dont fall for the hype that racing in the 200's is amazingly closer now.... in 160's that i raced last year most of the races were as close amongst the top six. as for the rotax / tkm comment.....i read somewhere recently that tkm was the fastest growing class at the moment as people were getting sick of the growing costs of rotax.... a class which took over with the promise of equal sealed engines with a performance advantage....sounds familiar... how equal are the rotax motors ???
