We have recently had to replace the brake disc on our R2 Wright prokart. The disc fitted was the same size and thickness however since this has been fit the brakes have become very weak.
The pads seem to be a good 4/5mm off the disc on both sides when the pedal is not pressed. When the pedal is fully depressed they meet the disc however are not very effective when the kart is under load and at speed.

We have bled the brakes by lifting the front of the kart using the gravity method. There is no air visible in the pipes on relaxing or depressing the pedal.

A little mystified as to why with the old disc they worked fine and now the pads are so far away from the disc and so weak??

Can the distance the pads are from the disc be altered manually. There are also no leaks from the calipers or the master cylinder which could be causing lack of pressure in the system.

Any advice appreciated. We have a race on Thursday and wont be able to race if we cant resolve this!
