Ok...just to continue.....We have just completed the 6 hour endurance at three sisters...very happy the kart lasted an hours practice followed by a six hour race with no mechanical problems at all!
However.. since the last race and the first post on this thread we have changed the jets to 72's (one was a 70 and one a 72?) We have also changed the valve springs for G4 springs and changed the 20/63 sprocket set up for a 20/66. Last time we raced we only got 5200 revs at the end of the long straight and were struggling to accelerate out of the corners fast enough. Since these changes we today got the revs upto 5500 in the wet and once it had dried upto 5700.
I was managing to get out of all the corners at a good speed apart from out of lunar bend. Other karts seemed to pass me as i could still not exit quick enough. The sprocket change has definatley improved it but i still feel we can accelerate out of lunar quicker and also should be looking to hit 5900 revs at the end of the straight.
A few of the other drivers have said we should nor try a 20/68 set up to gain a little extra acceleration out of corners and also up the revs by 200. Would this set up affect our max speed on the long straight and begin to hold us back there or would people agree to give it a try.
