I tend to agree, dropping anything up to 1bhp (not our engine, but I've heard of some Hondas producing about 6) - 20% is massive. Perhaps if the new engine is much lighter, it might still feel quite quick. Bit worried that the maximum bhp and maximum torque figures quoted for the Parilla were both at 10,000 rpm. Doesn't sound like it's going to be all that exciting pulling out of corners either. If we had the time, I'd love to go back and try Hooton again, perhaps in cadet libre, see whether or not our more sprightly Honda would out-perform the Comers there. It's all interesting, I just hope it does eventually turn out to be better for the sport. I think there are some hopeful aspects to it, I like the sound of good machining tolerances meaning closely matched engines in particular. Could lead to good racing.
