Thanks Colin and Richy. Sound replies. Pre arks sounds like the way to go to start with. I am sure he will love it. Will have a look at the chain guard... I may have spoken to them already and it was out of stock. Called a few.

Colin, I called one of the numbers on the Forest Edge site and the advice I was given was the Honda popularity is going down and the way forward was Rotax. Hence my concerns.

I was tempted to swap my max for a mini but just cannot bring myself to do it. Even if just to look at :-)
