I can understand why the decision to go with msa regs from a safety point of view but I can also imagine there will be a lot of "turn up" prokart drivers that wont want to have the expense of buying a new race suit, helmet , boots and gloves, this becomes worse for the younger drivers of junior and cadets as to comply to Msa regs means the purchase of a lightweight helmet and from memory when I bought one for my lad they are thick end of Ł300 and they dont seem to come up 2nd hand, combine that with an approved suit race boots and gloves it becomes an expensive first race for someone dipping their toe into the water.
