Careful what you wish for though. Unless the problem with big buck SP engines is sorted, bringing kids back into Pro-karts with the competitive dad syndrome will only make matters worse.
I travel a 500 mile round trip for a weekend to race Subaru rather than get dragged into the money pit of 2 strokes. But equally I build Honda engines for a living and I wouldn't have my kids race those anymore either, now I know how much difference there really is.
It must be so hard for the engine builders now, they want to sell SP engines on the basis of the extra performance. But they don't want to kill the Golden Goose by admitting how much difference there is. Hence all the smoke and mirrors about set up etc.
As for using the GX120, don't go there. It's far worse than the GX160 due to the most restrictive point of the engine being in the ports rather than the carb venturi and exhaust as on the GX160.
