The tolerences on the Subaru engine is so much finer than the Honda (they are more like a motorcycle engines)and the number of hours between rebuilds is massive. This means sealed & ultimately pooled engines are much more feasable.
First experience of this engine was that on a borrowed outfit we were able to turn up and run at the front of the National finals in France. We subsequently ran a full season on the KX21, only changing the oil every other weekend, put a brand new engine on for the first round of the next season and back to back found less than a tenth difference.
If you like Honda cadet because of the way you can bolt on an engine and forget about it, concentrating on the set-up and the driver. The subaru engine is even better, you don't even need a practice engine and race engine, one lump does it all.
