Bit old School on this

Just engine as a whole - no head by itself

Locked the engine on a bench at TDC a la Heath Robinson

did the air test and it whistled out of the oil filler

Scientific test of a tube stethoscope to the air source but so much leak on both engines at the filler that could feel it as well as hear it

Slight leak to inlet valve (one more than other) which doesn't worry me (if I refitted oil filler) - needs a top end anyway but must have done a good job on the exhausts when I did it myself last time

Just amazed that both engines 'blew' so easily through the rings at such a low pressure from the tester

Gauge showing about 30-40% loss if cranked up - admittedly some from the inlet valve on both (bizarre) but rings blowing badly

Just wondered what the 'average at the rings was' as surprised at the figures I was getting even if blowing low pressures from the tester

Guess a total furb will bring better '12 season - off the roger at RPM for the works I guess
