I hear what you are saying and it makes sense.

I was always under the impression, however, that only 1 driver is allowed in the fuel bay. So if you want to change drivers on the same stop as a refuel then you have to push the kart out and away from the fuel bay, this costing time too.

Whereas a refuel stop with no driver change you'd simply start up and go without any faffing.

If other teams want to run more than 2 drivers then I guess we take the stance that they do at their own loss.

If you were to completely remove any form of penalty from solo drivers then they would have an advantage whether you can see it or not. But it is clear that solo drivers are or at least have been over penalised.

The other option now that they have a new system is to just add a mere 5 seconds to the solo drivers finishing time.

Again, a chat with the chaps at 3S prior to the race should box that off.
