A new set is faster than a used set, with the YDS. Trust me it's noticeable, even if they are more durable.

They are definatly more effected by multiple heat cycles. What do you do in sprint racing hit them with multiple heat cycles.

Also to dispell the myth, I'd probably put money on a set YDS 'coming on' before an SL1. There is more chemical reaction going on with the Bridgestone. In the damp a set of YDS should be faster than a set of SL1.

The YDS are lighter thanks to their construction, don't know the exact value but it might not be far off a kilo in comparison to the Dunlop.

Can't disagree with the fact moving to a single tyre has it's benefits. When the likes of PFi and 3 sisters on them, there is a chance some may travel to WL should they run on YDS.
