The no wets is a bit a of a stupid rule... as it dumbs down endurance racing. Changing tyres for the conditions SHOULD be a factor in endurance racing. It rewards the teams that have the capacity to deal with different situations quickly. Also rewards the innovative.

I can't disagree with the cost argument of only requiring one set of tyres.

It's not as safe because you can drive within your limits and be wiped out by someone who is forced beyond their limits purely by the conditions.
