Well thats a bit picky to pull that out Newshound, but fair enough, considering you are only helping me put my point across. The point being that the racing & safety rules at 3S are not completly clear...

(Before I go into this, I do realise it is meant to be more of a fun and enjoyable race for which is the reason I partake and that all of this can be taken too far!)

For every single rolling start I have done, be that at Rye House or in the EPEC it has been done at a slow and controlled pace, clearly ENFORCED by the Marshals, to the degree where some were too quick and got out of sync, we had to go round AGAIN. During this formation lap, all karts have been safely bumper to bumper and only on the start straight does everyone accelerate to race pace.. not all the way round the lap, as ultimately, everyones race pace is very different and if you can not over take during that period, it makes it very unfair.

The point of a safety car is to enforce a pace during a formation lap or during a safety period... the safety car is basically a marshal on the track but due to the smaller nature of karting we generally can do away with an equivilent 'safety kart'.

Over the tannoy the mashalls said, "We will restart the race under Yellow Flag conditions"

As far as I am aware, that means slow down, be aware for hazards and no overtaking - so thats exactly what I would have done. If someone infront of me shot off like a bat out of hell, I'd feel in a dilemma, "do I adhere to the rules that I believe are correct or do I just follow suit and risk a penalty or having to go around again and waste more time?" And for that reason I saw about 4 packs of karts.. by ONE lap, each spread by 1 to 2 seconds per pack. Hugely inconsistent and unfair for drivers stuck behind and advantageous for those who shot ahead.

Ultimately we're argueing tit for tat over a race that ultimately doesn't score you any points in any form of league, so it doesnt really matter. The main focus of my rather long post (appologies) was safety really and how many things were unclear; the above an example of that, thats all.
