I think we've all been through the mystified stage. I know I did, some choose to walk away when they see the difference and others turn it to their advantage, either by spending relatively large (or small) amounts of money on 'factory' engines or by doing it themselves.
Personally I've come full circle, having taken advantage of differences not only in competition but also in supplying engines to others to subsidise our own racing. I know find myself wondering at what point should the rule makers say 'enough'. With a new Honda engine on the horizon, which even if it doesn't mean everyone buying completely new motors will no doubt throw up more super fast parts, where does it stop?
What annoys me is the don't care attitude of Honda, who can't be bothered to provide 'proper' race engines. 'The market is too small' argument is simply a smoke screen. If Subaru can do it, then why not Honda?
