alternatively...

the humble Gx160:

when degoverned it works from clutch engagement to an upper rev range of around 5.750rpm, with good valve springs.
It will rev above this with std parts but the gains are small and the risk of part failure is high.
Mid range power is where the good engine outperforms the poorer engine.
