Is one end of the top hat washer the same size as the crankshaft ? If so then it could be used as the stop end on the crank with the smaller washers , bolt and lock ring to give a little end float instead of just using a larger washer to do the job . I can remember reading that Magnum clutch inners had become wider which may be why you have the top hat to pad out the difference as I mentioned above ...
