Surely a dyno should already be calibrated from factory to a standardised 'measurement'.

1bhp is still 1bhp regardless isn't it? Especially if they're auto calibrating systems. I understand that an engine can change in performance depending of circumstances, however if RPM and uFo bought their respective dyno's round to my house to dyno just one of our engines, surely the readings would be the same with an acceptable tolerance [of say, 7bhp ;-)].

1cm on one ruler isn't 1.2cm on another is it? Unless it was one of those free ones out of a christmas cracker at your work do!
