You need to be more definite about your problem.

A transponder is the yellow box you strap on to the back of your seat for race timing.

It transponds, that is, it picks up a beacon signal from the finish line and sends out a radio message giving its number.

It's pretty accurate and reliable but does drop a kart identity every now and then, but normally the lap timer can resolve which kart it was (ie a signal is received but the number gets scrambled).

The other toy is a datalogger (usually Alfano or Mychron) which is triggered by a magnetic strip built into the track and which can be fooled by any number of events including being airborne as you go over a strip. Dataloggers are not transponders, don't send out a signal and don't record your racetimes.
