Just wondering if anybody had seen the time attack series. was wondering if anything had been done in karting on the same lines, it could be an exciting challenge, and could be run on open track practice days or at a race meeting.just needs the people present to agree to it. and other people can use the track at the same time
some of us can't race due to other commitments and time but enjoy Karting for Fun and as such use 4 stoke karts
2 20 min qualifying periods,then a semi if required and final, similar to F1 qualifying.
track owners and race organisers could even allocate days/time periods for it in there program/calender
the idea is you race against yourself and the track, and not just crossing the line first
it's your choice when you go out(within the time period
Initially the idea is for fun but i think it could grow into a full on series.
the benefits for it are:-
competitive 4 stroke karting
No pushing/contact (as you don't benefit from it))
more track time
any 4 stroke kart can be used if track allows it(so not limited to track usage)
you normally just turn up for practice any way(so why not)
good fun
the cost is up to you a £100 kart or a 10k doesn't matter
any kart tyres
it is just an idea, maybe some of the R1,gixxer,and VFR karts about might be interested
you could even use this forum to arrange and meet up at various tracks
