Hi guys, i wonder if someone could help me please.

I have recently changed my exhaust to a straight through one, no silencer and am running an open air filter, with fine mesh as a filter.
Now the weird thing is today, we went out after the intial choked start, took the choke off completely and ran for a couple of laps.
The engine sounded like it was missing and was only reaching about 4-4500 max revs misfiring most of those.
Now i thought that the carb might have some crap in it so stripped it down, no crap so rebuilt and ran again. same problem so just as an experiment i opened the choke lever up a quarter and ran again. This time it went like a rocket and we were getting revs past 6000 and no misfiring.
Am i right in thinking that i now need a bigger jet as with the exhaust and filter set up i am running now it requires more fuel??

Any help would be very much appreciated as i dont think running the engine with partial choke is the long term solution.

Thank you

Lee
