Gary, no real damage should have occurred but may do if you try to start it. What can happen is that the oil from the engine goes in places it shouldn't like the head and carb. Put the engine the right way up and let the oil drain back into the sump for a day or so. It would be wise to check if there is any oil in the carb - if there is, you will need to give it a thorough clean; you should check the air filter is OK too. Take the plug out after the oil has finished draining back into the sump and check there is no oil left in the head. After all this, if you are happy that all is OK, spin the motor over by hand to make sure it runs freely, it should be fine. It may be that you have been lucky and the oil has stayed where it should and not gone into the head/carb/air filter but if you're as lucky as me...
