We (Blue Lizard - 67) had a good start - going from 18th on the grid to 11th at the end of lap 1. The axle moved 1 hour 10 mins into the race and we lost 40 mins fixing that. We lost a few minutes with a bent track rod after three spinning karts collected one of us and then we lost another 35 mins when a hire karter took me out and I was then hit by another kart breaking a wheel and bending the axle.... We finished 31st overall, but would easily have been in the top 10 without our problems......
Well done to our paddock neighbours, Alpha, for a great win; Teesside for a fantastic event and circuit, and my team for a job well done.
My only crticism would be the 'basic' facilities at the circuit - maybe camping there will not be the best option next year......
