sounds about right...... how you doin herbie?
now then we were wondering about the old belts only the other day. not run them for a couple of years now so i'll do me best. firstly the main reason we haven't run them is testing time. reliability? very good, we ran several 24hr's with them without a hitch (and no lube required) you do have to get used to them though especially in the wet, if you over rev it at low speed the teeth will strip off the belt. they do drive nicer than chains but i'm not 100% they are quicker, they seem to suite some tracks/conditions and not others..
the clutch drums are a modified version of the dry clutch so replacement shoes are no problem. (i can't remeber which company made these, i'll have to dig them out if i ever get to go home) Ted Poole had these made originally so perhaps JJ at prokart engineering may be able to shine some light on that one.
The pulleys we used to make ourselfs although you can get them from america, H (MS KART) imported some of these and is certanly worth speaking to.
we also used to get the belts through H, i think they were off a food processor or summit.
once you have got the kit the belts are the only real consumable, and like tyres go off with age(especialy over the winter)
certanly worth trying.....
