i imagine you can do the usual things: skim head,advance ignition timing,decent exhaust or de-baffle the original,upgraded valve springs.im not sure if the gx240 head fits,if so fit a skimmed gx240 head.you should be able to get some ideas for diy tuning from:www.karting.4cyle.com and go on the honda engine forum where hopefully you will get some answers.also try nr-racing.com both are in the usa.maybe contact rpm racing engines if they dont build the gx270 then they might know who do.hope this helps.
