A lot of noise about the wankel being the 'way forward'...
That is all very well, but it is (as far as I am aware) still not recognised by the MSA, and therefore the 2009 series will be an independant non-MSA series. Now a kart that could potentially be 530hp per tonne plus (without driver) is perhaps not a vehicle to be racing without reasonable governing and precautions that come with the MSA, who I seem to recall, define a kart as having 30hp or less.
There are many who would not feel comfortable racing such a monster without the MSA's beady eyes on the situation.
Whilst the AIXRO's look like serious fun for playing around with, I am inclined to agree that (production allowing) Biland/Vampire/Swiss Auto are perhaps the sensible 4t option for racing.
