OK, before I ask can I set some parameters and go some way to justifying me being tight please?
I have two old Prokarts with GX 160's that my son and I play on - we don't race them and have no intention of doing either, they are just for fun.
I am at the stage where the engines are ready to be freshened up but I CANNOT bring myself to buy 4 sets of piston rings at around Ł30+ a set - which is causing me a dilemma.
I am happy to take a bit of a risk by using pattern rings and I note there are maybe a couple of businesses that sell kart parts that sell pattern rings. That being the case, I would not have thought that these businesses would sell rubbish however; there is one HELL of a difference between Ł30 for genuine and about Ł5 for pattern!
Does anyone have the benefit of experience of using pattern rings please? I realise some will be cr@p but surely, some of them will be reasonable for what I want?
