Knighty. In an ideal world everybody would do as you say you have done. If you have put this amount of effort into your karting ,built your own engines, done your own development,come up with your effective solutions and involved your driver in the engineering aspects of karting , then I am with you all the way and respect you for it. However this is not karting culture . 99% of the people you race against wouldn't think of building their own engine or thinking outside the box or involving their driver in anything technical.
I have built, driven , and raced ( at a low level and with little success) a number of karts, plus grass track cars ,and 750 formula.
Although not a chartered engineer, I do have an HNC in mech. eng.& a Dip tech fail. As a result I am very doubtful regarding your claims re.clutch, which you chose to raise but I have been wrong many times before.......
