Easy.... you don't!

However, it depends on what you are checking. If you are trying to check the stub axle itself, it's usual to hold the two of them back-to-back and compare them, visually. If you are talking about the stub-yoke built into the chassis, you need to get it put back on the jig to check it. If it's an (e.gf.) Italian chassis, it's not so easy.
