The engine is only sealed until you cut off the seals as you have probably done already. Until resealed by tal-ko it will be ineligible for all the msa TKM 4 stroke races !!!!. However if you want to race in IKR or just run it then ... the seal. All 4 stroke engines are timed with the inlet valve fully open when the crank is 100 - 110 degrees after top dead centre. In most cases the opening point of the inlet valve and the closing point of the exhaust valve are symmetrical about TDC. This info should let you time any engine without apparent timing marks accurately enough to get the engine running. Not familiar with this engine but any engine where the valves open beyond the cylinder head face will cause the piston to hit the valves if the timing is way out or the timing chain/ belt fails!!
