Granted, the calibration debate is a departure from the original question but does answer the "why do they (different dyno's) not give results that can be directly compared?"
Ok back to the original question, from what I've heard UFO dyno figures are generally higher than RPM BUT as per the calibration answers, that doesn't mean they produce more power. Perhaps people should answer with the peak power figures they've had on dyno printouts from various engine builders.
Back to a point, mentioned somewhere above, peak power means very little, the shape of the curve and how much is available "say" at the revs you exit a particular corner at, might mean more. Force use a figure based on the calculation of area under the curve, as one of the figures they compare engine by, which takes more account of this.
