I don't think I have seen a dyno output for our motors for years. RPM have delivered me with consistently good product over the last 12 years or so and I seriously wouldn't get too hung up on it. As I said before it is unlikely that the issue will be the engine. It is the easiest mistake to think getting beaten down a straight is due to power. Even on a standing start there are other variables.
I also would not get at all bothered what anyone else is running on a practice day. You have no idea what weight, tyres or engine they are running. I made this mistake with my daughter when a lad that she had previously been running fairly equal pace in testing all of a sudden went significantly quicker yet still driving untidy. It turned out the engine had been modified but it did confuse me until I found out what was going on and we let them do their own thing and focus on our own stopwatch.
I have also bought loads of chassis that I have been told were straight that simply didn't suit driving style to simply discover they were set up wrong. Finally, kids all develop at different rates and to different levels. My own daughter plateaued and didn't want to race but enjoyed the challenge of lapping consistently while a lad that was out most weekends and was happy to tootle around at the back for a couple of years eventually got it and featured at the sharp end in his last year in cadets.
