Thanks to Chris Cox and Ian & Team for a great first IKR meeting at Clay. A lesson in how to run a friendly, relaxed meeting and amazing value for money, with sensible decisions all day long that compels drivers to rise to the occasion and conduct themselves in a manner befitting. Despite a thunderstorm in qualifying and Race 1 and the challenge of dealing with that on slicks, the small Prokart grid had an absolute ball. Central to it all as always Jeff Johnson did his usual job of enthusing everyone, helping not just our grid but all and sundry. Congratulations to Joe of AutoTekk Racing on a great victory after some superb battles thru the day with JJ, class acts both, on and off the track.
The nicest part of the day though was we managed to introduce a guy who had never raced, only done track days to karting, bring back a gearbox karter after 12 years away and give EPS Endurance guru Tony Lees his first sprint race and allow us all to be covered with the proverbial sh**y blanket at the end of the races.
Why cant all racing be like this? (ok EPS is, but...), I dont think the officials had much to do apart from enjoy the racing.
Looking forward to next month already, lets get a few more out there and really support this brilliant sprint racing initiative.
