Many thanks for that, this thread was a bit quiet so thats what I did yesterday and Richard has confirmed exactly what you said, it all depends on the dyno curve! our T2 does really drop off after 6200rpm, and in sundays race running the 20:77 really was the right thing to do as the mid-range really helped my lad blat it down the straight, however in hindsight, daddy put to much grip into the kart and I think as a result I believe the tyres and chassis was robbing the engine of its top end performance by a few hundred rpm when going into and around stadium bend, as we didnt get much above 6050rpm, hey-ho, you live and learn........ I had a poke around the paddock after the main "big-boys" honda cadet final, and the set-ups I observed on other P1 chassis confirmed this suspicion.
