I would wholeheartedly support a de-tuned gx160 and make all the outputs equal but that isn't going to happen. Kelvin's timing tool is good in theory but the application is already throwing out variables. Also this is just one area and will not equalise matters as much as you might be led to believe.

Do I really want a split or fragmented prokart class - no but if this is the outcome in the short term for the class to survive and grow again then I definitely support it. I certainly don't see anyone else suggesting an alternative (or are prepared to make the initial investment for longer term gain).

EPEC & Warden Law have committed to supporting this initiative by running championships this year and we already know of karts on the grid this year that would otherwise have drifted away. Longer term success will but judged sometime in the future but doing nothing isn't an option.

Whilst Kelvin has a passion for prokarts do you really think the MSA are really that bothered? Cadets yes but the MSA as good as killed that class off twice over a few years back and actually that was great for prokarts as we good sensibly priced engines for years.

Any suggested alternatives?
